DHS Announces Fraud Investigation in California

California is next in a series of other fraud investigations set to take place after the massive Minnesota fraud scandal was uncovered.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Krisi Noem announced that federal investigators are headed to California to investigate potential instances of fraud taking place. This announcement comes after federal officials discovered large instances of fraud linked to public assistance programs in the state of Minnesota. Hundreds of arrests were made, as money that was meant for Medicaid and developmental services was found to have been used to buy luxury homes and vacations.

Secretary Noem stated that the fraud discovered in Minnesota appears to be “just the tip of the iceberg. It is leading us to networks all over the country and overseas, and we’re gonna follow every single one of them.” She also stated that Homeland Security is committed to holding anyone who is guilty of stealing taxpayer dollars accountable and bringing them to justice.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has expressed his openness to partnering with the president on this issue moving forward.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Noem and DHS officials as they work to uncover and prevent instances of fraud taking place in the U.S.
  • For Governor Newsom and state leaders as they partner with DHS to investigate instances of fraud in California.
