DHS secretary says the demonstrator “weaponized” her SUV.
As U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducted operations in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Wednesday, a 37-year-old female was shot and killed by an officer as she nearly drove over him. The agent, who was hospitalized after being hit, is expected to recover.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said, “It was an act of domestic terrorism… a woman attacked them, and those surrounding them, and attempted to run them over and ram them with her vehicle. An officer of ours acted quickly and defensively shot to protect himself and the people around him.”
Secretary Noem also reported that incidents of drivers ramming ICE agents with vehicles have increased. She explained, “It’s very clear that this individual was harassing and impeding law enforcement operations. Our officer followed his training, did exactly what he’s been taught to do in that situation, and took actions to defend himself and defend his fellow law enforcement officers.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Noem as she heads the Department of Homeland Security and oversees federal immigration and border enforcement.
- For wisdom for Acting Director Lyons as he manages ICE and their operations around the nation.
- For the recovery of the ICE agent who was struck by the SUV, and for the family of the driver who was killed.
