Secretary Duffy Announces $1.5 Billion in Infrastructure Funding Grants

The grants will support safety, mobility, and regional transportation projects.

The Department of Transportation announced a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) making $1.5 billion available through the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) grant program for fiscal year 2026. The competitive grants support planning and construction of surface transportation projects, including highways, rail, ports, and truck parking. Updated merit criteria emphasized safety improvements, expanded transportation options, roadway capacity, accessibility, tourism support, and long-term infrastructure performance.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said, “We’ve ripped out the red tape and refocused the program on advancing safe and innovative projects that lower costs and improve America’s outdated transportation networks.”

BUILD grants are intended for projects with significant local or regional impact and have been awarded since 2009 to state and local governments, tribal entities, and transportation authorities. As of mid-2025, more than $18 billion has been distributed nationwide. Applications are due by February 24, 2026.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Duffy as he oversees the review of applications and rewarding of infrastructure funding.
  • For U.S. transportation officials as they coordinate with state, local, and tribal governments for funding to address transportation needs in their communities.
