DHS Triples Self-Deportation Financial Incentive with End-of-Year Deadline

Illegal migrants who leave by the end of 2025 will receive a $3,000 stipend, as well as free airfare and waived fines.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that it has tripled its “exit bonus” for illegal aliens who voluntarily leave the U.S. before December 31. The new financial incentive, which has been increased from $1,000 to $3,000, would be paid to individuals once the government confirms that they have left the country. In addition, the department said that those who qualify will also receive free airfare back to their home countries and that they will waive certain civil fines or penalties tied to remaining in the U.S. without legal residency.

Migrants illegally residing in the U.S. are instructed to utilize the CBP Home app to alert the government of their plans to leave the country. These participants will also be deprioritized for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests and detentions, as long as they can demonstrate that they are taking “meaningful strides” toward leaving the U.S.

Officials intend for this new incentive to help reduce the costs associated with arresting, detaining, and deporting illegal aliens, which is currently estimated at $17,000 per person.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem as she oversees the implementation of this updated incentive program.
  • For wisdom for President Trump as he continues to oversee the nation’s enforcement of immigration laws.
