President Donald Trump is requiring a review of the Smithsonian Exhibitions and Materials. His original request, made in August with a mid-September deadline, was extended “in recognition of ongoing staffing transitions at the Smithsonian.“

The president sent the Smithsonian a follow-up letter last week, saying, “While we received a partial production of materials from your office on September 18, no other material has been produced by your office to us in the more than 90 days since that September date.“

President Trump explained, “While we appreciate receiving the initial document production, that submission fell far short of what was requested, and the overwhelming majority of requested items remain outstanding.“

He concluded, “As officials designated by the President pursuant to Executive Order 14253, ‘Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History,‘ it is our job to ensure that the Smithsonian is meeting these high standards.“

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump as he seeks to restore the foundations of American history.
  • For Secretary Lonnie Bunch and Smithsonian officials as they respond to the president’s request.
  • For the president and administration officials as they prepare for the 250th anniversary of the United States.
