Members of the Turtle Island Liberation Front were arrested after being found in the desert with materials to create explosive devices.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested 4 members of the radical political organization Turtle Island Liberation Front.
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi stated, “After an intense investigation, the Department of Justice, working with our FBI, prevented what would have been a massive and horrific terror plot in the Central District of California (Orange County and Los Angeles).”
She continued, “The Turtle Island Liberation Front—a far-left, pro-Palestine, anti-government, and anti-capitalist group—was preparing to conduct a series of bombings against multiple targets in California beginning on New Year’s Eve. The group also planned to target ICE agents and vehicles.”
The group had gathered in the Lucerne Valley in Los Angeles, where they were suspected to be preparing and testing explosive devices in preparation of the attack. The FBI found bomb-making components, including PVC pipe, powder, and fuses, at the campsite where the four were arrested before they finished assembling any kind of functional bomb.
All four defendants have been charged with conspiracy and possession of an unregistered destructive device.
