Department cites inadequate airport facilities and out-of-date infrastructure.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced his department’s goal to redevelop the Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). A Request for Information (RFI) has been issued for companies to submit proposals that will outline options for reworking the airport’s existing infrastructure or redeveloping it altogether.
The department highlighted concerns regarding Dulles’ outdated facilities, people movers, jet fuel smell, and the overall number of gates.
Secretary Duffy said, “Tourists, world leaders, and CEOs from around the world should not be forced to travel through an inefficient airport when they visit D.C. IAD needs a complete refresh to assume its proper role as the premier international gateway into the capital of the greatest country in the world.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Duffy to be discerning as he heads the Department of Transportation.
- For U.S. transportation officials as they consider the submissions from their RFI.
