The National Christmas Tree on the Washington, D.C., National Mall opens to the public today.
There are also 58 smaller trees on the Ellipse that were decorated with ornaments made by school children to represent each of the states in the nation. The trees are lit at sunset.
President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump lit the 35-foot spruce on Thursday evening.
