Congressman Chip Roy recently introduced the Pausing on Admissions Until Security Ensured (PAUSE) Act of 2025. The legislation would temporarily halt all immigration until certain conditions are put in place.
Representative Roy said, “I’ve got a bill that I’m going to be introducing this week or next week that is a freeze on all immigration until we achieve certain objectives, reforming things like chain migration, diversity, ending H-1B, and getting birthright citizenship dealt with.”
“The problem isn’t just illegal immigration; it’s also legal immigration,” Congressman Roy stated. “Young Americans are struggling to find jobs after college, while a lion’s share of H-1B visas are being awarded for entry-level positions.”
He continued, “American families are being gouged by insurance companies, while aliens are receiving taxpayer-funded healthcare. The prospects of marriage, parenthood, and homeownership are becoming increasingly distant for Americans, all while foreign nationals are bringing multiple generations of families through chain migration.”
