The health secretary kept the original language with a footnote.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revised its vaccine and autism webpage, footnoting its statement that vaccines do not cause autism. The shift in language indicated that research has not fully ruled out a connection and claims some studies supporting a link have been overlooked. This aligns with Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s concerns about the veracity of vaccine safety claims.
The federal health department stated that the new language reflects rigorous scientific evaluation and noted that the department has launched a broader review into autism’s causes. While the CDC retained a headline declaring that vaccines do not cause autism, it added a footnote explaining that it remained due to an agreement with Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, who secured such assurance during the process of Secretary Kennedy’s confirmation.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Kennedy and CDC officials to be committed to clear and transparent information as they seek to care for public health.
- For U.S. health scientists and medical professionals to communicate reliable research to the public and promote understanding.
- For families affected by autism to receive accurate information and beneficial support.
