White House South Lawn

President Donald Trump will welcome Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa to the White House. Syria is expected to join the U.S.-led coalition that opposes the militant Islamic State.

The one-year pause on President Donald Trump’s tariff exclusions on Chinese-built vessels, ship-to-shore cranes, and container chassis begins today. This pause is part of the agreement President Trump made with Chinese President Xi Jinping last month. The tariffs on fentanyl-related materials lowered to 10 percent today as well.

The Supreme Court is hearing oral arguments today in two cases. In Landor v. LA Dept. of Corrections, the justices will consider whether someone can sue a government official under the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act of 2000.

In The GEO Group v. Menocal, the justices will determine “whether an order denying a government contractor’s claim of derivative sovereign immunity is immediately appealable under the collateral-order doctrine.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump as he discusses policies and strategies for the Middle East with the Syrian president.
  • For wisdom for President Trump and his trade team as they continue to negotiate updated agreements.
  • For the justices of the Supreme Court to be discerning in their interpretation and application of the U.S. Constitution, federal laws, and precedents.
