Federal Officials Announce Actions to Strengthen U.S. Beef Industry

USDA and partner agencies create measures to stabilize markets, support ranchers, and safeguard food security.

Federal officials recently introduced coordinated actions to support the U.S. beef industry and improve market stability for ranchers. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler jointly announced steps to reduce regulatory barriers, expand processing capacity, and promote locally sourced beef.

“We are committed to ensuring the American people have an affordable source of protein and that America’s ranchers have a strong economic environment where they can continue to operate for generations to come. At USDA we are protecting our beef industry and incentivizing new ranchers to take up the noble vocation of ranching,” said Secretary Rollins.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) noted more than 100,000 family farms have closed over the past decade, and the national cattle herd has dropped to its lowest level in 75 years, even as consumer demand for beef continues to rise. Federal efforts will focus on stabilizing prices, improving supply-chain resilience, and supporting the next generation of ranchers.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the administration officials to be prudent in their collaboration to support the beef industry.
  • For the president and members of his Cabinet as they seek to improve the nation’s economy and strengthen domestic production for the food supply.
