Energy Secretary Strengthens Mid-Atlantic Power Grid Reliability

He issued an emergency order to support grid stability and minimize the risk of energy shortfall.

Energy Secretary Chris Wright issued an emergency order last month under the Federal Power Act authorizing companies to coordinate to “meet anticipated demand heading into the winter months.“

“Unfortunately, the energy emergency continues to impact many regions of our nation,” Secretary Wright said, citing President Trump’s declaration of an energy emergency when he took office in January. “To ensure 65 million Americans in 13 states and D.C. do not experience blackouts in the coming winter months, I am issuing an emergency order for PJM Interconnection.“

Secretary Wright continued, “Americans deserve reliable power regardless of whether the wind is blowing or the sun is shining and especially during a cold snap. The Trump administration is committed to keeping your families safe and restoring access to affordable, reliable, and secure electricity.”

The emergency order will be in effect through December 31, 2025.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Wright to be led by God as he manages the nation’s energy supply and supports the power grid.
  • For wisdom for U.S. energy officials as they seek to increase energy production and development.
