The federal government continues to be shut down as the Senate has not passed the continuing resolution approved in the House to temporarily fund the government. It is currently the third-longest shutdown the nation has experienced, to this point.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee, chaired by Senator Jim Risch of Idaho, is considering several proposed pieces of legislation, including improvements to the AUKUS security partnership and deterring China from attacking Taiwan.
The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, chaired by Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, is holding a hearing on labor law reform.
Other Senate committees are considering President Donald Trump’s nominees for their respective department positions and offices.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Senate Majority Leader Thune to receive God’s wisdom as he presides over the upper chamber’s business and works to gain support to fund the government.
- For members of the Senate committees as they hold their hearings and consider federal nominees for confirmation.
- For discernment for President Trump and officials in his administration as they determine which agencies are essential and proceed with their agenda.
