Man Arrested After Ramming White House Security Gate

The Secret Service reported the driver was sent for a mental health assessment.

A man was arrested on Tuesday night for ramming a vehicle into a barricade at the White House. The suspect allegedly rammed the Secret Service vehicle gate at 17th and E Streets. President Donald Trump was inside the White House at the time of the collision.

“The individual was arrested & the vehicle was assessed and deemed safe,” the Secret Service stated. “Our investigation into the cause of this collision is ongoing.” The Secret Service also confirmed that some areas of the White House complex would remain closed “as teams investigate the cause and manner of the collision.”

Secret Service Spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi stated on Wednesday that the driver was taken to a hospital for a mental health assessment. He added, “DHS privacy policy prohibits the release of names until at which point charges are formally filed by the office of the United States attorney.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secret Service agents as they work to protect President Trump and the White House.
  • For DHS Secretary Noem and Secret Service Director Curran as they seek to ensure adequate security measures at the White House.
  • For the Lord to guard the president’s and first family’s lives.
