The Justice Department has begun an investigation of the police department for arresting journalists and not their attackers.
District Judge Karin Immergut issued a temporary restraining order to halt the deployment of the National Guard to Portland, Oregon, to protect the federal U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility. President Donald Trump had ordered Secretary Hegseth to “provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists.”
Meanwhile, the Department of Justice has announced an investigation into the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) after law enforcement arrested journalists who were attacked by Antifa, calling them “counter-protestors“ who incited violence. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon of the Civil Rights Division sent a request for records surrounding the arrests and the policies of PPB, given that the attackers were not detained.
“Portland is already under a failed consent decree for its failed police practices,” Assistant Attorney General Dhillon said. “It has been for over a decade now.”
She stated, “We will not leave the people of Portland at the whims of criminals and woke cops. Govern yourselves accordingly!”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For federal judges to seek God’s direction as they hear and rule on challenges to the president’s actions.
- For wisdom for Attorney General Bondi and Assistant Attorney General Dhillon as they seek to ensure laws are upheld by states and municipalities.
