Secretary Doug Collins of the Department of Veterans Affairs said that the government shutdown will have a negative impact on many U.S. veterans.

“Many of them work in the federal government. Many of them have services provided to them after they’ve gotten out through the federal government,” Secretary Collins said. “And this shutdown simply is going to be a hindrance into getting that help here at the VA.”
The VA secretary continued, “It cuts out our ability to communicate, mass communication, through our public affairs and through our communication devices. You know, those are the kind of things that are helping the vulnerable, the fringe veterans, who need our help to be reached.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Collins to be discerning as he oversees the care for U.S. military veterans.
- For members of Congress to be prudent in their discussions to negotiate funding the federal government.
- For President Trump and Director Vought as they determine the basic funding of essential government agencies during the shutdown.
