Administrative office says court fees and other accounts can offset dried funds.
The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts announced that federal courts will be able to remain open through October 17 despite the federal shutdown.
Court officials explained the finding of enough “court fee balances and other funds not dependent on a new appropriation” to keep the courts open for two weeks after the federal government shut down on October 1. The office had previously said it may only be able to remain operational until October 3, but discovered these additional funds after conducting an internal assessment.
Federal courts will use this financial subsistence to continue operating its online case management system and conduct court proceedings as previously scheduled.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For federal and appellate judges as they proceed with hearings during the interim funding.
- For district and circuit administrators as they administer fees and process financial resources to e keep the courts temporarily operating.
