The funds will support more than 130 recovery projects across multiple states.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem recently announced nearly $35 million in federal disaster relief to assist communities recovering from recent natural disasters. The funding, distributed through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Public Assistance program, will support more than 130 projects nationwide. State and local governments will oversee how the funds are used to address recovery priorities.
“For decades, FEMA was mired in red tape and bureaucracy, slowing its response to natural disasters. This new funding proves that Secretary Noem’s efforts to remake the agency into a fast, responsive disaster relief enterprise are working,” said Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
The projects include repairs to infrastructure, debris removal, and costs related to emergency measures taken to protect life and property. FEMA noted that these grants add to the billions of dollars already distributed to communities rebuilding from recent disasters.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Noem to be led by God as she manages the Department of Homeland Security.
- For Acting Administrator David Richardson as he oversees the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
