SEC to Hold Roundtable on Crypto Privacy and Financial Surveillance

The public discussion at SEC headquarters will address privacy-protecting technologies and policy issues in the digital asset sector.

The Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Crypto Task Force will host a public roundtable on financial surveillance and privacy on October 17, 2025, at its headquarters in Washington, D.C. The event will feature panelists who are developing tools that protect individual privacy and will explore policy issues related to financial surveillance in the digital asset space.

“Technology that helps Americans protect their privacy is critically important as it enables people to choose when and with whom to share sensitive data about themselves so they can be protected from bad actors,” said Commissioner Hester Peirce. “Understanding recent developments in privacy-protecting tools will assist the SEC and other financial regulators as we work on policy solutions in the crypto space.”

The SEC launched the Crypto Task Force under Acting Chairman Mark Uyeda earlier this year to clarify regulations, encourage responsible registration and disclosure, and ensure careful use of enforcement resources.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Acting Chair Uyeda to seek God’s direction as he oversees the SEC and its cryptocurrency policies.
  • For members of the commission to be discerning as they engage in discussions surrounding privacy in the digital asset sector.
