HHS Secretary Appoints Five Members to CDC Vaccine Advisory Committee

The health secretary said, “ACIP safeguards the health of Americans by issuing objective, evidence-based vaccine recommendations.”

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. appointed five more members to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) this week, days before the panel’s next meeting.

In June, Secretary Kennedy fired all former members of ACIP and installed eight new members, many of whom have expressed concerns about vaccine approvals and effectiveness. Secretary Kennedy said the five new members are aligned with the commitment to approach vaccines through transparent, evidence-based science.

“The new ACIP members bring a wealth of real-world public health experience to the job of making immunization recommendations,” Deputy Secretary of HHS and acting CDC Director Jim O’Neill stated. “We are grateful for their service in helping restore the public confidence in vaccines that was lost during the Biden era.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For prudence for Secretary Kennedy as he evaluates and appoints officials to the federal health department.
  • For Acting Director O’Neill to receive God’s wisdom as he oversees the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
