The Forest Health Resilience Projects will support more timber production over a three-year period.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) invested an additional $8 million into the Joint Chiefs’ Landscape Restoration Partnership Program, a collaboration with state governments and private companies to reduce wildfire risk, protect water quality, and improve forest health across the nation. This funding supports five new projects for this program, which already supports 24 projects set to be completed in the next three years.
“Wildfires have no boundaries, and neither should our prevention work,” said Forest Service Chief Tom Schultz. “We need everyone at the table to deliver the kind of active management that will return our forests to health and productivity. Joint Chiefs’ puts local leaders in the driver’s seat, enabling cross-boundary work based on shared priorities with states, partners, industry, and forest landowners. It’s a win-win.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the chief and officials in the U.S. Forest Service as they seek to facilitate timber production and the reduction of fuel for wildfires.
- For discernment for the Native American chiefs who are collaborating on the Joint Chiefs Partnership to manage forest lands.
