All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. – 2 Timothy 3:16
Do It Yourself – DIY – has become the norm for many people. People used to buy books or subscribe to magazines that offered insight into gardening or home improvement. Now online videos and websites offer instruction on everything from how to create a bird feeder to building a custom mirror. If you are really handy, you might even be able to repair your own car or appliance! You can follow the directions, and sometimes your efforts yield your desired result, sometimes not.
There is only one Source of instruction that will always give you the best outcome, even though you mess up once in a while. God’s Holy Word is the one “manual“ that will guide you with directions that cannot fail – if you follow them. Scripture has been set apart by God for sacred use, to teach you to know and live by what is true. John MacArthur wrote that the Bible is divine revelation. You need to believe it, memorize it, meditate on it, study it, obey it, defend it, and live it! That list may sound like a tall order, but you only need to try it to see results. As author Joy Auker puts it, “Don’t do it yourself, do it with Yahweh!”
When you have the Living Word of God inside you, you know the truth and more quickly recognize those who would deceive and destroy. Pray now for the believers in federal, state, and local government positions to stand firm in the truth of God’s Word, and that their efforts succeed as they follow Him and seek to do what is right.

3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.
9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. 14 To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter.
16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, 17 comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.
