Secretary Duffy Announces Investigation into Illegal Trucker Crash in FL

The illegal alien was issued a CDL by the states of Washington and California.

Secretary Sean Duffy announced that the Transportation Department is investigating the deadly collision caused by an illegal alien making a U-turn while driving a semi in Florida earlier this month. Three occupants in a minivan were killed when they could not avoid the trailer of the semi as it turned.

“If states had followed the rules, this driver would never have been behind the wheel and three precious lives would still be with us,” Secretary Duffy said. “This crash was a preventable tragedy directly caused by reckless decisions and compounded by despicable failures.”

The state of Washington originally issued the commercial driver’s license (CDL) in 2023 to the illegal alien despite his lack of eligibility. California issued another CDL to him last year. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration found that the man did not understand basic road signs and was not proficient in English.

“Non-enforcement and radical immigration policies have turned the trucking industry into a lawless frontier, resulting in unqualified foreign drivers improperly acquiring licenses to operate 40-ton vehicles,” Secretary Duffy added.

The Florida attorney general announced that all the state’s weigh stations will be immigration checkpoints after the fatal semi crash.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Duffy to seek God’s guidance as he oversees the investigation into the fatal collision.
  • For state officials as they make decisions regarding immigration enforcement and transportation licensure.
