President Donald Trump is at the White House today and is preparing for the week ahead. He is planning to welcome South Korean President Lee Jae Myung early in the week to discuss a variety of issues, including trade, international cooperation, regional stability, and defense.
Later in the week, the president will be focusing on trade negotiations with India as the August 28th deadline approaches, in which the U.S. will increase import tariffs to 50%. President Trump voiced that one of the most significant issues of concern is India’s continuing energy purchases from Russia, thus negating significant global sanctions on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.
