As part of President Donald Trump’s effort to address crime in the nation’s capital, he met with the Metropolitan Police Department and National Guard troops in Washington, D.C, and gave remarks to officers and servicemen and servicewomen. “You make the country run, frankly, you make the whole place run,” the president said, praising the efforts of those in uniform.

In addition to combating crime, the president added that the federal government would also invest in enhancing the city’s physical appearance. This will include updating roads, signs, and local parks by reseeding grass and installing new sprinkler systems around the city. “I’m very good at grass, because I have a lot of golf courses all over the place. I know more about grass than any human being I think anywhere in the world. We are going to be re-grassing your parks, all brand new sprinklers systems, the best that you can buy,” the president said, adding, “You do the job on safety and I’ll get this place picked up physically.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For God to guide the president and administration officials as they work to address the needs of Washington, D.C.
- For the safety and discernment for all of the service men and women stationed in the capital as they work to keep the city safe.
- For God to direct the president as he heads into the weekend and plans for the week ahead.
