President Trump comments on the “fake crime numbers“ being released by the Metropolitan Police Department.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) launched an investigation into crime data collected by the Washington, D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department.
President Donald Trump stated, “D.C. gave Fake Crime numbers in order to create a false illusion of safety. This is a very bad and dangerous thing to do, and they are under serious investigation for so doing!” The president ordered the Justice Department to take control of law enforcement operations last week under the Home Rule Act.
A D.C. Metropolitan Police commander had allegedly been shifting the data on violent crime in the district, prompting the Justice Department to launch a full investigation into the reporting of crime data. The commander was put on administrative leave and is still being investigated by city officials.
While media outlets and city officials continue to point to a drop in crime since 2024, the nation’s capital is still in the top five cities for the highest number of homicides in the U.S. this year.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump and Attorney General Bondi to be led by the Lord as they seek to make the nation’s capital safer.
- For wisdom for investigators as they look into the Metropolitan Police Department’s reporting of crime statistics.
