The process would not include illegal aliens in the population count.
President Donald Trump announced his administration’s intention to update U.S. census data collection to exclude undocumented immigrants from the population count. This effort is based, in part, on the apportionment of seats in the House of Representatives that has included illegal aliens for representation instead of only U.S. citizens and legal residents.
“I have instructed our Department of Commerce to immediately begin work on a new and highly accurate CENSUS based on modern day facts and figures and, importantly, using the results and information gained from the Presidential Election of 2024,” President Trump stated.
“People who are in our Country illegally WILL NOT BE COUNTED IN THE CENSUS,” the president added.
If such a shift is successfully made, it would be a significant change in protocol. The U.S. census has counted all people residing in the country, regardless of immigration status, based on the 14th Amendment, which instructs the government to use the census to count “the whole number of persons in each State.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump to be led by the Lord as he addresses the inclusion of illegal immigrants in the population numbers.
- For Secretary Lutnick to seek God’s guidance as he manages the Commerce Department.
- For Acting Director Ron Jarmin to be prudent as he heads the U.S. Census Bureau.
