Families of four dependants could see a rebate of $2,400.
This week, Senator Josh Hawley introduced legislation to provide a $600 tariff rebate to every American, including dependent children.
Senator Hawley previously worked with Senator Bernie Sanders to pass the second round of COVID-19 pandemic stimulus checks, and this new legislation proposes a similar rollout and execution. The legislation also proposes implementing larger tariff rebates if the tariffs are increased more than expected within the next year.
“Like President Trump proposed, my legislation would allow hard-working Americans to benefit from the wealth that Trump’s tariffs are returning to this country,” he said, supporting President Donald Trump’s steep tariff increases while advocating for his legislation.
