U.S. Sanctions Six Tren de Aragua Leaders

Treasury Secretary Bessent says the president’s administration “will not allow Tren de Aragua to continue to terrorize our communities.”

The United States sanctioned the head of Tren de Aragua, the Venezuelan gang that has committed organized violent crime in many U.S. cities, along with five other leaders or affiliates. The sanctions freeze any property attached to the individual’s name and prohibit any business with them in the United States.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that this “action highlights the critical role of leaders like Nino Guerrero and his lieutenants in Tren de Aragua’s efforts to increase its destabilizing influence throughout the region.”

Secretary Bessent added, “The Trump Administration will not allow Tren de Aragua to continue to terrorize our communities and harm innocent Americans. In line with President Trump’s mandate to Make America Safe Again, Treasury remains dedicated to dismantling Tren de Aragua and disrupting the group’s campaign of violence.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Bessent to be discerning as he heads the Treasury Department.
  • For U.S. officials as they assess the imposition of sanctions on hostile actors and entities.
  • For wisdom for President Trump as he and members of his administration seek to deport criminal illegals from the nation.
