The additional fee was included in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, and is effective immediately.
One of the many financial policies included in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act that President Donald Trump signed on July 4 is a new “visa integrity fee” for all visa holders coming to the United States, administered by the Department of Homeland Security. All visa holders will be subject to a $250 fee paid to the U.S. State Department. The fee is to ensure that travelers to the U.S. comply with their visa conditions, and is intended to be reimbursed after the trip concludes.
“The visa integrity fee requires cross-agency coordination before implementation,” a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said.
A State Department spokesperson said that the fee will “support the administration’s priorities of strengthening immigration enforcement, deterring visa overstays, and funding border security.”
Visitors from nations included in the Visa Waiver Program are not required to obtain a visa if their stay is 90 days or less.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Kristi Noem to receive God’s wisdom as she heads the Department of Homeland Security.
- For Secretary of State Marco Rubio as he collaborates with DHS on the implementation of the visa integrity fee.
- For U.S. immigration enforcement and border security officials as they seek to ensure homeland security.
