DHS Reports 830% Increase in Attacks on ICE Agents

Department calls on politicians and media to change their responses to immigration enforcement and accurately report on operations.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported an 830 percent increase in assaults on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers between January 21 and July 14, 2025, compared to the same period in 2024. The rise coincides with President Trump’s return to office and, the agency stated, has been the result of inflammatory rhetoric from politicians and misleading media coverage.

Secretary Kristi Noem called for bipartisan condemnation of violence against law enforcement.

“This new data reflects the violence against our law enforcement in cities across the country in the last few weeks. Politicians across the country, regardless of political stripe, must condemn this,” said Secretary Noem.

Specific incidents include an ICE officer being hospitalized after reportedly being targeted following the public sharing of his business card. Another case involves Representative LaMonica McIver of New Jersey, who faces federal assault charges after allegedly attacking an officer at a New Jersey detention facility.

Homeland Security officials also reported harassment campaigns against ICE officers in Portland, Oregon, where groups have allegedly doxed personnel and issued threats against their families.

The agency was also critical of media reports that accused ICE of misconduct during child rescue operations, as if they were targeting minors. DHS also clarified that, in cases involving undocumented parents, ICE provides illegal aliens the option to have their children remain with them or to designate a guardian. Federal officials urged political figures and media outlets to avoid spreading misinformation that may endanger law enforcement officers.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For administration officials as they seek to educate the public on immigration enforcement and federal laws.
  • For politicians and journalists to report on immigration operations accurately and honestly.
  • For God’s protection for ICE and other federal law enforcement as they seek to remove violent criminal immigrants from the U.S.
