In the News…

Chief of Staff General Randy George reported that the U.S. Army is implementing a modernization in battlefield training called “Transformation in Contact.” The plan has field units utilizing new technology prior to its full vetting by the acquisition process.

“We’re taking lessons from everywhere,” General George said. “We’re changing how we’re organized because I think that is what the current edition conditions require. We’re changing how we train and operate.”

General George said they are trying to replace the old model of units defining a need and waiting years for Army contractors to develop a solution with soldiers providing feedback directly as they use new technology.

“What we don’t want is to buy something and then say we’re going to have it for the next 20 years,” General George said.
