President Donald Trump will attend the inaugural Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit today at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, hosted by Senator Dave McCormick. In addition to top CEOs and industry leaders, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Energy Secretary Chris Wright, Environmental Protection Agency administrator Lee Zeldin, White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, and David Sacks, White House AI and crypto czar, will participate.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee, chaired by Senator James Risch of Idaho, is holding hearings today to consider nominees for confirmation, including former National Security Advisor Michael Waltz as U.S. Representative to the UN. Other Senate hearings today include investigations into organized theft rings and vaccination injuries.
Committees and subcommittees in the House are holding hearings to consider critical mineral supply chains, drone surveillance and national security, antisemitism in higher education, and federal agencies’ fiscal year 2026 budget requests.
