President Donald Trump is welcoming the leaders of five African nations to the White House today for discussions on expanding commercial partnerships. The heads of Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania, and Senegal will meet with President Trump and have a working lunch.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently explained that the U.S. is shifting from an aid model that is charity-based to one that prioritizes partnerships to promote self-reliance. The president’s administration has canceled large amounts of foreign aid to focus on trade, investment, and mutual prosperity.
The Federal Trade Commission is holding a workshop today entitled The Dangers of “Gender-Affirming” Care for Minors. The commission will hear from detransitioners, parents, advocates, and health officials regarding unfair and deceptive practices in which the gender-transition industry engages.
