NORAD Intercepts 11 Civilian Aircraft Violating July 4th No-Fly Zone

F-16 aircraft escorted aircraft away from President Trump’s New Jersey location over the holiday weekend.

President Donald Trump spent the Fourth of July weekend in Bedminster, New Jersey, prompting the U.S. military to issue a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) in the area. This is a standard procedure to monitor and protect the airspace around the president. Over the course of the weekend, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) intercepted 11 civilian aircraft flying over the area, using F-16 aircraft and the alert the pilots of their violation before escorting them from the airspace.

General Gregory Guillot, Commander, NORAD and U.S. Northern Command, stated on Sunday, “TFR procedures are mandatory, and the excessive number of TFR violations this weekend indicates some civil aviators are not reading Notice to Airmen, or NOTAMs, before each flight as required by the FAA. NORAD armed fighter aircraft will intercept and guide offending aircraft out of the TFR.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For NORAD commander General Guillot to be led by the Lord as he also heads the U.S. Northern Command.
  • For the Secret Service and U.S. military as they provide security to the president.
  • For U.S. civilian pilots to adhere to the temporary flight restrictions and stay out of the no-fly zones.
