The civil rights office announced the conclusion of an investigation into the state’s education department and interscholastic federation.
The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights released the findings of an investigation into the California Department of Education and California Interscholastic Federation which show that they have violated Title IX protections by discriminating against girls and women.
The federal department stated that President Donald Trump’s administration has “prioritized protecting female athletes from the unfair competition, unsafe situations, and the indignities involved when male athletes compete in athletic competitions designated for girls.“
Secretary Linda McMahon said, “Although Governor Gavin Newsom admitted months ago it was ‘deeply unfair’ to allow men to compete in women’s sports, both the California Department of Education and the California Interscholastic Federation continued as recently as a few weeks ago to allow men to steal female athletes’ well-deserved accolades and to subject them to the indignity of unfair and unsafe competitions.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary McMahon and Education Department officials as they seek to ensure Title IX prohibitions against discrimination are upheld.
- For Governor Newsom and state education officials to adhere to Title IX protections for women and girls.
