White House officials call the reinstatement a “recalibration.”
President Donald Trump reimplemented the detention and deportation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers of illegal aliens as they work at farms, hotels, and restaurants. The president had paused ICE efforts in those industries late last week.
Last Thursday, President Trump announced, “Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace.“ He added, “Changes are coming!“
On Sunday, according to White House officials, President Trump “recalibrated“ to have ICE focus on large urban areas.
“The President has been incredibly clear. There will be no safe spaces for industries who harbor violent criminals or purposely try to undermine ICE’s efforts,” Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated.
“Worksite enforcement remains a cornerstone of our efforts to safe guard public safety, national security, and economic stability,” she added. “These operations target illegal employment networks that undermine American workers, destabilize labor markets, and expose critical infrastructure to exploitation.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump to seek the Lord for wisdom in his decisions and actions.
- For discernment for the president’s advisors and members of his administration.
