Today is President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday. The United States Army was also established, as the Continental Army, on this day in 1775. The president and his administration have arranged for an airshow, a military parade through Washington, D.C., a festival with fireworks, and a concert to commemorate the service’s 250th year.
The Secret Service has prepared for “an enormous turnout” with 18 miles of anti-scale fencing and multiple drones. U.S. Army officials have estimated that 200,000 people may attend the parade.
The parade is designated a National Special Security Event in which the Secret Service will lead high-level coordination of D.C. officials, the FBI, Capitol Police, and the local National Guard.
