U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania

John Karl Fetterman was born in August 1969 in West Redding, Pennsylvania. He earned an undergraduate degree from Albright College, a master of business administration from the University of Connecticut, and a master of public policy from Harvard University.

Fetterman began his career as an insurance underwriter, was involved with AmeriCorps, and joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. He was elected mayor of Braddock in 2005 and won reelection four years later. He won the election for Pennsylvania lieutenant governor in 2018 after a failed bid for the U.S. Senate in 2016. In 2022, Fetterman won election to the U.S. Senate.

He is married to Gisele, and they have three children.

Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania responded to the violent riots and vandalism taking place in Los Angeles.

Senator Fetterman said, I unapologetically stand for free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigration—but this is not that.”

He continued, “This is anarchy and true chaos.”

The senator added, “My party loses the moral high ground when we refuse to condemn setting cars on fire, destroying buildings, and assaulting law enforcement.”
