Secretary Rollins meets with Italian and UN leaders to expand U.S. agricultural exports to Europe and global food aid programs.
U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins recently completed a trade mission to Rome, Italy, to strengthen agricultural ties and increase market access for American producers in the European Union.
“This trade delegation to Italy has been essential to ensure we are putting U.S. Farmers First on the world stage and expanding market access for the bounty of American Agriculture. It was a privilege to represent American farmers and ranchers in discussions with Italy’s Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida and other key agricultural stakeholders,” said Secretary Rollins.
The USDA secretary engaged with over 50 Italian stakeholders from the meat, wine, dairy, and feed sectors, advocating for broader access to Italy’s more than $80 billion agricultural market—where U.S. products currently represent only a small share.
Secretary Rollins also held talks at the United Nations with Director General Qu Dongyu of the Food and Agriculture Organization and Executive Director Cindy McCain of the World Food Programme. These discussions focused on ensuring U.S. agricultural products are prioritized in global food aid efforts and that international food standards remain grounded in science and evidence.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for Secretary Rollins as she manages the USDA and its many agencies and offices.
- For Foreign Agricultural Service Administrator Daniel Whitley as he heads the USDA trade delegation to Peru this week.
