Supreme Court Grants DOGE Access to Social Security Data Systems

The majority said there is no evidence that DOGE would mishandle data.

The Supreme Court ruled last week that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) may be allowed access to the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) data.

The unsigned order said that there was no present evidence that DOGE would misuse sensitive personal data, agreeing with previous rulings made by other judges in lower courts. The order paused a district judge’s block of DOGE’s ability to access Social Security numbers, medical and mental health information, tax return information and citizenship records.

Justices Ketanji Brown Jackson, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan issued a dissent, with Justice Jackson writing that the court’s action creates “grave privacy risks” for millions of Americans.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for the Supreme Court justices as they deliberate and issue opinions on the remaining cases of this term.
  • For President Trump and members of the DOGE service as they seek to root out fraud and eliminate waste.
