Faith in God

Commit your ways to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.  – Psalm 37:5

As a Christian, the Lord is with you. He does not leave you to fend for yourself like some feral cat. How marvelous it is to think that the God who created the universe is willing to help you, when you pray according to His will and believe you have what you ask. Believing that you have what you ask may be a tall order when you have not physically received the answer yet. In fact, circumstances may look like they are only getting worse as you pray. This is a test of faith.

Some ask, when they are going through trouble, “Where is God? Doesn’t He hear me?” His love and faithfulness have already been proven through Christ Jesus. You can be confident in Him. Can He be confident in you? Will you pray according to His will? Have you considered what His will is by reading His Word? Do you pray believing? When you truly believe, you won’t wonder if God has left you. You will confidently wait.

Sometimes you must prepare for His answers. For instance, when Jesus fed the five thousand, He had the disciples organize the people into groups of fifty before the bread and fish multiplied (Luke 9:14). Today’s verse instructs you to commit and trust then God will act. He is not a mere religious belief. He is a powerful being fully equipped to answer your prayers. Intercede for this nation with confident faith that the Lord will accomplish His will in the United States as His people pray.

Today’s Verse: Psalm 37:5

20 As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away to its roots. 21 And Peter remembered and said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered.” 22 And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. 23 Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
