DHS Removes Sanctuary Jurisdiction List After Response from Local Officials

Secretary Noem originally said the list was supposed to put politicians on notice to comply with federal laws.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) removed a list of 500 jurisdictions from its website that had previously been labeled as “sanctuary” areas allegedly obstructing federal immigration enforcement. The list drew a negative response from the National Sheriffs’ Association for lacking transparency and failing to involve local law enforcement in its formation.

At the time the list was published, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem stated, “We are exposing these sanctuary politicians who harbor criminal illegal aliens and defy federal law. President Trump and I will always put the safety of the American people first. Sanctuary politicians are on notice: comply with federal law.”

Local officials from Shawano County, Wisconsin, and Las Vegas, Nevada, said they were mistakenly included and were unaware of how they qualified. The list’s removal has left the original web page unavailable, and Secretary Noem declined to comment on the removal.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Noem to seek God’s direction as she manages the Department of Homeland Security.
  • For DHS and ICE agents as they work to remove violent criminal illegal aliens from the U.S.
