Federal Judge Rules DOGE Staff Can Access Treasury System with Training

She stated the court should not “function as Treasury’s de facto human resources officer.”

Judge Jeannette Vargas of the Southern District of New York ruled to allow DOGE employees access to the systems at the Department of the Treasury, with clearance and training documented by the department during the case.

Judge Vargas wrote, “Plaintiffs are not obligated to simply rely on Defendants’ assurances that they will continue to comply with the practices that have been put in place in the absence of a mandate from this Court.”

She ruled that, while the department must follow the standards laid out in the case, it would be impractical to have the court approve the hiring of each new team member. Judge Vargas stated there is “little utility in having this Court function as Treasury’s de facto human resources officer.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Scott Bessent to be prudent as he utilizes DOGE staff in the Treasury Department’s operations.
  • For federal judges to be discerning and uphold federal laws as they hear and rule on executive branch authority and the separation of powers.
