U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is expecting new trade deals to be made before the end of the 90-day tariff pause. He cited talks between the U.S. and China, as well as discussions with India and Taiwan.

“These deals are moving quickly, and I think as we approach the end of the 90-day period, we’re going to see more and more of them announced,” Secretary Bessent said. “Many of the Asian countries have come with very good deals.”
The president of Taiwan announced this week that his nation will be buying more U.S. products to avoid 32 percent tariffs from President Trump.
Japan’s Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy expressed the hope of meeting with Secretary Bessent in the next round of trade discussions.
India has proposed significant tariff cuts on certain items but has reportedly sought to maintain some agricultural duties.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for Secretary Bessent as he engages foreign finance ministers and trade representatives.
- For President Trump to receive God’s guidance as he leverages U.S. buying power to improve the nation’s economy.
- For the Lord to accomplish His will in and through the president and his Cabinet officials.
