DHS secretary urges politicians and journalists to “tone down their rhetoric.”
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested a Mexican national living illegally in the United States earlier this week after the man, 54-year-old Ramon Morales-Reyes, sent a handwritten letter to a nearby ICE office threatening to assassinate President Donald Trump. He wrote that he would self-deport after he shot the president.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem responded Wednesday, promising to protect the president against any similar threats that may occur.
“Thanks to our ICE officers, this illegal alien who threatened to assassinate President Trump is behind bars,” said Secretary Noem.
“All politicians and members of the media should take notice of these repeated attempts on President Trump’s life and tone down their rhetoric,” the DHS secretary added. “I will continue to take all measures necessary to ensure the protection of President Trump.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Noem and ICE Acting Administrator Lyons as they respond to homeland security threats, including those on the president’s life.
- For Secret Service agents to be vigilant and effective in their protection of President Trump.
