EPA Awards Brownfields Grants to Projects Across the Nation

Six Kentucky projects are among 23 recipients to benefit from cleanup and revitalization funding.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced over $18.8 million in Brownfields Grants for 23 recipients across the Southeast this month, including six projects in Kentucky. These grants, part of a national $267 million investment, intend to assess and clean up contaminated properties to support local redevelopment, economic growth, and community health.

“The $267 million in Brownfields Grants will transform contaminated properties into valuable spaces for businesses and housing, creating new opportunities that strengthen local economies and directly benefit American families,” said EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin.

“The first pillar of Administrator Zeldin’s Great American Comeback initiative promises access to clean air, land, and water to every American while fostering economic growth,” said EPA Regional Administrator Kevin McOmber.

The EPA awarded other Brownfield Grants to Alaska, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Maine, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and California. The agency also awarded revitalization grants and funding to Colorado, Montana, Nevada, and Hawaii.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Administrator Zeldin to seek God’s guidance as he heads the Environmental Protection Agency.
  • For wisdom for regional EPA administrators as they review the projects receiving federal grants.
