South Korean Trade Delegation Attends Tariff Talks in Washington

This is the second round of discussions, an agreement is scheduled for July.

South Korea sent a delegation to Washington this past week to hold the second round of trade negotiations with the United States.

The agenda discussing areas of trade balance, including non-tariff measures, economic security, digital trade, country of origin of products, and commercial considerations, was set last week at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation’s (APEC) Ministers Responsible for Trade Meeting.

At the APEC Meeting in Jeju, South Korea, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer was busy discussing tariffs and agreements with various ministers of Asian nations as the 90-day pause of President Trump’s tariffs will expire in early July.

Negotiators hope that honing these economic details will produce a U.S.-South Korea trade agreement by the deadline.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for members of President Trump’s trade team as they negotiate agreements with foreign countries.
  • For U.S. Trade Representative Greer and Treasury Secretary Bessent to seek God’s guidance as they head trade discussions.
