President Donald Trump is headed to his “Summer White House” in Bedminster, New Jersey, today for the Memorial Day weekend. He will give a commencement address to West Point graduates in New York on Saturday.

The Treasury Department has announced that the U.S. Mint will stop producing pennies once it has run out of blank one-cent coin templates. President Trump had directed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in February to stop the production of new pennies due to more than double their cost to mint. The government estimates a $56 million per year savings from the move.
Secretary Bessent dismissed Moody Rating’s recent downgrade of the U.S. credit rating by one point as a lagging indicator. The secretary said, “We inherited 6.7 percent deficit to GDP, the highest when we weren’t in a recession, not in a war. And we are determined to bring the spending down and grow the economy.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump’s safety as he heads to Bedminster and prepares to give the West Point address.
- For Secretary Bessent to be prudent in his financial negotiations for the nation.
- For the Lord to accomplish His purposes and plans in and through the governing officials of the United States.
